The book makes a good Christmas gift; just slip it in a stocking by the fire or in a nice box, with red, green, shiny Christmas wrapping paper & a lovely bow. It was so much fun to write & it will be fun to read.
In fact, you might also consider purchasing a copy of my first book H. P. Lovecraft & the Black Magickal Tradition & then giving both books as a gift. They complement each other & raise interesting speculations about magic, science, gods, goddesses, monsters, robots & artificially intelligent virtual reality entities.

Professor Steadman: I've got your book. So far, it's quite good. I'm just up to the part where you begin discussing William Gibson. A lot of these books that you're discussing are ones that I've read since the late 1960's as a kid, teenager, or young adult, and I thought I knew well, and had just read "yesterday". Yeah, right. My grandmother told me when I was a kid that as you grow older, the years go by like months and eventually even seem like just weeks. You've revealed to me new insights on these books that made me glad I've saved them, and I'll need to go back and reread them. For that matter, I intend to reread your book again as soon as I'm done with it, just so that i absorb more from it - something I rarely do anymore, because of the huge backlog of reading material I've accumulated that I must work through. Don't expect a quick turnaround of comments, though - I always read several books at the same time, depending on my mood and the moment, so I have the most potential attention and interest available to dedicate to the type of book, and I also belong to three book groups, so that slows me down. I find other people do the same. In any event, for your other readers out there - buy it and read it. I was disappointed that his next book wasn't the Randolph Carter critical analysis, but this is damned good, and makes up for the delay until we hear if the RC book gets published. (I'd eventually like to put up a good review on Amazon.)
